Best NFL Football Games to Bet in Week 16
We have reached Week 16 of the NFL season, and the playoff races are really starting to heat up in both conferences. This is another weekend of football that is a bit spread out as the Christmas season has the league playing games on several days.
Betting on the NFL has continued to get better as the year has moved on as well, and there are some great betting opportunities throughout the Week 16 schedule. Here is a look at four of the best betting opportunities to look at for the games set to take place in Week 16.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New York Jets (EVEN)
Week 16 of the NFL season is once again starting off on Thursday night, and there is a pretty big showdown set to take place in the AFC. The 6-8 Jacksonville Jaguars will visit the 7-7 New York Jets, and the betting line for this game is set at EVEN.
Jacksonville has the momentum in this game as they have won two straight games, while the Jets have lost three in a row. Both teams can’t afford a loss in this game, though, and playing at home does give the Jets a bit of an advantage.
New York is going to have to try and win this game with defense, as they just don’t have the offense capable of taking over a game. The Jets are giving up less than 19 points per game, and they will put pressure on the Jaguars all night long.
Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence is having a big season, but the Jaguars struggle to get defensive stops. This game should be tight for the full 60 minutes, but in the end, it will be the Jets that come away with a big victory.
New Orleans Saints vs. Cleveland Browns (-2.5)
The New Orleans Saints travel to Cleveland to face the Browns on Christmas Eve, and this is going to be an interesting game. Cleveland finally has their starting quarterback on the field, while the Saints are a mess at that position.
New Orleans did just pick up a big win over the Atlanta Falcons, but they just haven’t been consistent enough on offense to win games. The Saints will try to get pressure on Deshaun Watson in this game and take control on defense.
Cleveland’s defense held the Baltimore Ravens to just three points in a Week 15 win. Watson still hasn’t really gotten things going yet, but the Browns have an offense that is capable of racking up the yards on the ground.
This game likely won’t feature a ton of offense, and that is going to keep both teams in the game until the very final drive. Cleveland is the better overall team, though, and they are going to win this game and cover the three-point spread.
Cincinnati Bengals ML vs. New England Patriots
There is a big slate of games set to take place on Saturday this weekend, and that includes a matchup in New England. The Patriots will host the Cincinnati Bengals, and the visitors are slim 3.5-point betting favorites in this game.
Cincinnati comes into this game red-hot, and quarterback Joe Burrow is having a monster season. Burrow is closing in on 4,000 passing yards, and he has thrown 31 touchdowns for the Bengals.
New England has lost three of their last four games, and they suffered a devastating defeat in Week 15. The Patriots are scoring just 21.4 points per game, and quarterback Mac Jones is playing worse this year than he did a season ago.
Bet the Cincinnati Bengals over the New England Patriots, but taking the moneyline is the better option than betting against the spread.
Green Bay Packers vs. Miami Dolphins -4.0
There are three games set to take place on Christmas Day, and the first game of the day provides the best betting opportunity. The Miami Dolphins host the Green Bay Packers, and each team needs a win to stay in the playoff race in their respective conference.
Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers is starting to play much better, as he has now thrown 23 touchdown passes. Green Bay is also a team that can run the ball effectively with Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon. Miami is a team that wants to throw the football, and they are averaging nearly 290 passing yards per game. Tyreek Hill has over 1,500 receiving yards through the first 15 weeks, and he will be a tough cover for Green Bay in this game.
Green Bay is starting to play better of late, but they are still a team that has some serious flaws. The Packers just won’t be able to get enough stops in this game as the Miami Dolphins will win this game and cover the four-point spread.
