As we reach the middle of June in Major League Baseball, it’s a good opportunity to look at the most up-to-date betting odds to win the 2024 World Series. These are certainly different from the beginning of the season, and the most recent update. Let’s take a look at the recent:
Los Angeles Dodgers +280
This is still the most talented offensive team in the National League. The Dodgers are not going to be challenged by the NL West. The Padres look to be the second best team, but can they even go over .500? Shohei Ohtani has been exactly what the Dodgers paid him all the money for. Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman continue to be red hot, and Will Smith is having a monster season. If this team can pitch in the postseason, they are going to be an awfully tough team to beat.
New York Yankees +500
Aaron Judge continues to pound baseball’s all over the ballpark. Juan Soto has been outstanding for New York as well. That is quite the combination, with guys like Giancarlo Stanton also stepping up. The Yankees have been getting pretty strong pitching. The Yankees are going to be challenged in the division, as Baltimore seems to be right on their tails. The Yankees come into the middle of the month as the American League Favorite and the second best odds to win in all of baseball.
Philadelphia Phillies +600
The Philadelphia Phillies have been red hot. This is one of the best starts in franchise history. Bryce Harper is putting up MVP-type numbers. Kyle Schwarber, Alec Bohm and Trae Turner continue to shine as well. The pitching staff is legit with Aaron Nola, Zach Wheeler and even Ranger Suarez coming out strong. Philadelphia seems to be running away with the National League East over a really talented Atlanta team.
Baltimore Orioles +750
Gunnar Henderson is breaking through in a monster way this season. The Baltimore offense is really talented. If they can get consistent starting pitching, this team should fare better in the postseason than a season ago. The Orioles currently are trying to keep pace with the Yankees out of the American League East. Baltimore comes into the middle of the month at +750 to win the 2024 World Series.
Atlanta Braves +750
This is a banged-up Atlanta Braves squad. The Braves have lost Spencer Strider, who was projected to be their season-long ace. The Braves have lost Ronald Acuna, who was their MVP of a season ago. This is a really good team, but they cannot continue to lose much more talent. Chris Sale has been terrific out of the rotation and we will need him to continue that as the dog days start to get here. The Braves are +750.
Seattle Mariners +1300
The Seattle Mariners keep finding ways to win baseball games, and there really is not a rhyme or reason. Seattle has not been great with the bats, and have not pitched all that well. Julio Rodriguez is not having a great start to his season. But, that makes the Mariners scary, as if they start putting things together, they could be really scary good. Seattle is looking to hold off the defending champion Texas Rangers in the American League West.
Cleveland Guardians +1400
Jose Ramirez looks like a Most Valuable Player candidate out of the American League. Cleveland is one of the biggest surprises in all of Major League Baseball. It’s not that that Guardians are winning the American League Central, but how well they are doing it is the big deal. Cleveland is pitching well, and finally seems to have some solid hitting to go with it. Cleveland is +1400 to win the World Series.
Houston Astros +2200
Many are wondering what is going on with the Houston Astros. It has been a slow start, and as the season goes along, maybe this Houston team is just not very good. They have the talent. Kyle Tucker has been a big time homerun hitter for the Astros, while Jose Altuve continues to get on baseball. Let’s see if Houston can find its groove and get out. All they need is the third wildcard to get into the dance.
