College Basketball Conference Tournaments to Bet On
College Basketball Betting Tips
It’s championship week in college basketball, and this is arguably the best week of the season. The NCAA Tournament gets most of the attention, but there will actually be more games played this week, and this is when the rivalries are really taking center stage.
Since college basketball is a popular sport to wager on, this week is going to provide some terrific betting opportunities. With so many tournaments and games to choose from, it’s hard to know what leagues to focus on.
Here are seven conference tournaments to wager on this week, and a brief breakdown is provided for each.

AAC
The American Athletic Conference should be on your radar this week because you are going to find some valuable betting odds for this tournament. The Houston Cougars are the clear favorites at -145, but that doesn’t mean that they will get the job done.
Houston had little trouble navigating through the AAC during the regular season, but they were also swept by the Memphis Tigers. That could leave the Cougars a bit vulnerable this week, and Memphis actually has odds set at +350.
There is still some risk in taking Memphis, but you could get some pretty good value in taking anyone outside of the Cougars.
ACC
The Duke Blue Devils enter the ACC Tournament as the betting favorite at -125, and they are considered a massive favorite. Duke is clearly the most talented team in the league, but the best team doesn’t always win the ACC Tournament.
North Carolina is next on the list with odds set at +600, and Wake Forest and Notre Dame are next at +1000. The odds aren’t giving teams outside of Duke much of a chance this week, but don’t be surprised to see some drama in the ACC.
Duke is clearly the safe choice, but it’s worth your time to bet on a team like North Carolina or Notre Dame to win the title.
Big 12
The Big 12 Conference has been one of the most competitive this season, and that’s going to play out in the tournament as well. Baylor is the betting favorite at +220, but the Kansas Jayhawks are right behind them at +260. It would be a pretty big surprise to see someone outside of Baylor or Kansas win the title, but Texas Tech and Texas are going to be in the mix as well. The Red Raiders are at +390, and the Longhorns are at +650.
Betting on any of the four teams listed above will result in a pretty solid payout, and it’s nice having just four teams that realistically have a shot at winning it all.
Big East
Good luck trying to figure out the Big East Conference, as there have been surprising results all season long. Villanova comes into the tournament as the favorite at +150, but the Wildcats haven’t exactly dominated this season.
Out of all of the conferences in the country, it is usually the Big East Conference that has the most drama. There are as many as six teams that could win this conference tournament, and that will give you plenty of solid betting options.
Big Ten
The Purdue Boilermakers are the betting favorites to win the Big Ten Conference at +220, and the Illinois Fighting Illini are next at +350. Most college basketball experts would agree that Purdue and Illinois are the two best teams in the Big Ten, but this is a league that should see an upset in the tournament.
A team to keep an eye on this week is the Iowa Hawkeyes at +400. Iowa was on a roll heading into the season finale, and they are the best offensive team in the league.
There is some risk in backing the Hawkeyes over the Boilermakers or Fighting Illini, but Iowa is going to be cutting down the nets in Indianapolis.
Pac-12
The UCLA Bruins were supposed to control the Pac-12 Conference this season, but they enter the tournament with the second-best odds. UCLA is currently being offered at +250, while the Arizona Wildcats are the favorites at -135.
This title is going to come down to one of these two teams, but look for UCLA to get some revenge this week. Take the Bruins at +250 for a pretty solid payout.
SEC
The SEC is another league that is absolutely loaded with terrific teams this season. Because there is so much depth, this is going to be a tournament that is filled with terrific games and some surprising results.
Here are the odds for the six best teams:
- Kentucky +200
- Auburn +270
- Tennessee +370
- Arkansas +700
- LSU +1100
- Alabama +1600
All of the teams in the tournament have a chance to cut down the nets, but the champion is going to come from this group. Back whichever team you think has the best shot, and you can get a nice payout if your team wins it all.
