Tuesday: Philadelphia 76ers vs. Phoenix Suns
The first game to focus on this week is a potential NBA Finals matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Phoenix Suns. Philadelphia will come into this game rested while the Suns have to deal with the tough Chicago Bulls on Monday night.
Both players are coming into this game relatively healthy, and that should make this matchup even better as well. The Suns enter the week with a record of 42-10, while the Sixers are an impressive 32-21. Joel Embiid has been on a remarkable run for Philadelphia this season as he is scoring nearly 30 points per game. The Suns don’t have a ton of height to throw at the big man, and that could create some real issues.
Phoenix does have the offensive talent to keep this game close, but it’s hard to see them finding a way to win it outright. Take the Sixers over the Suns in this huge showdown on Tuesday night.
Wednesday: Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz
There are a couple of terrific matchups set to occur on Wednesday night, but the best one will take place in the Western Conference. The Utah Jazz are set to host the Golden State Warriors, and this has the potential to be a Western Conference Finals preview.
Golden State enters the week with a 40-13 record, and the Utah Jazz are just 32-31. Utah used to be at the top of the Western Conference, but they have really struggled since the calendar flipped to 2022. The Warriors are still missing several players, but they have Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry leading the way. Golden State is going to be put up plenty of points in this matchup, and it will be hard for Utah to keep up.
Winning games in Utah is always hard for opponents, but the Warriors won’t have an issue in this matchup.
Thursday: Dallas Mavericks vs. LA Clippers
The Dallas Mavericks and LA Clippers have plenty of history, and it’s always a battle when those two teams meet up. Dallas has been a much better team than LA this season, and the two teams are set to battle on Thursday night.
Luka Doncic is leading the way for the Clippers once again as he has poured in 26 points per game this season. Dallas still needs to find a way to be better defensively, but they can put up points in a hurry. The LA Clippers are playing games without Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, but they have remained competitive in most of the games. Don’t expect the Clippers to get blown out on Thursday night, but the Mavericks are winning this game at home.
Friday: Chicago Bulls vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Both the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves have been big surprises this season, and they are set to meet up on Friday night. Chicago is near the top of the Eastern Conference race, and Minnesota looks like a solid playoff contender in the Western Conference. The Bulls are currently playing without four regular players, but they could be getting healthy by the end of the week. Chicago is a team that can win games in a variety of ways, and DeMar DeRozan is one of the best teams in the league.
Minnesota enters the week with a 28-25 victory, and Karl-Anthony Towns has been terrific this season. The Timberwolves still need to find some more scoring options, but they have been good enough to win most nights.
This should be a close game, but the Bulls aren’t going to lose at home.
Saturday: Miami Heat vs. Brooklyn Nets
The final game to focus on in the NBA this week takes place on Saturday down in the state of Miami. The Heat are hosting the Brooklyn Nets, and many believed this would be the two best teams in the Eastern Conference. It’s hard to describe how disappointing the Nets have been this season, but they are in danger of missing out on the playoffs altogether. Injuries have played a key role in the struggles for the Nets, but this team should still have enough talent to win games.
Miami enters the week with a 34-20 record, and they have also climbed to the top of the Eastern Conference. The Heat have been playing without some players as well, but Tyler Herro leads the way with 20 points per game.
This game will be much closer than the records might indicate, but Miami is going to take care of business at home.
