Five NFL Futures Bets to Make
The start of the 2023 NFL season is still a few months away, but now is the right time to start looking for the best betting options out there. While the Week 1 odds are already out for those games, it’s best to start exploring the best futures bets to make.
There are many different futures betting options available for the NFL, and picking the Super Bowl champion is just one option. If you are looking to get your NFL betting started, then here are five NFL futures bets to make.
Super Bowl Matchup: Cincinnati Bengals vs. San Francisco 49ers (+2900)
Trying to bet on the Super Bowl champion is always a great future bet, but it feels like there are only a handful of great teams in 2023. With that being the case, you aren’t going to get a big payout if you bet on any of the favorites. Another way to look at the Super Bowl is by trying to bet on the eventual matchup, and this can come with some serious value. The best bet to make is to take the Super Bowl matchup of the Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers.
Both of these teams have been in the Super Bowl in recent seasons, and they are going to be great again next season. You obviously don’t want to wager a huge amount with this bet, but even a small amount can win you some serious money.
Chicago Bears Over 7.5 Wins (-115)
The Chicago Bears were the worst team in the NFL a season ago, and they traded away the number one overall pick for wide receiver D.J. Moore. Even though the Bears had the worst record in 2022, they were a team that looked better to those that actually watched them play.
With quarterback Justin Fields getting ready for another full season, the Bears should be a dominant offensive team next season. There are still some questions, but you are going to see Chicago take a big leap in 22023, and they can make a run in the NFC North Division.
The regular season win total is set at just 7.5 wins, and this team should fly right by that number. Take the over 7.5 wins, as the Bears will be pushing for a playoff spot.
Indianapolis Colts Over 6.5 Wins (-105)
The Indianapolis Colts are another team looking to bounce back in 2023 after having a miserable 2022 season. Indianapolis got off to a terrible start last year, and they were just never really able to recover.
The thing that will help the Colts find more success in 2023 is that they are in the AFC South Division, and that group of teams is not very strong. Indianapolis is not going to be a team that challenges for a playoff spot, but they are going to be solid.
Take the over 6.5 wins for the Indianapolis Colts, as they will win at least seven games in 2023.
NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year: Bijan Robinson (+300)
You don’t typically want to bet the favorite when making a futures wager, but that is what you want to do with the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. A couple of superstar quarterbacks were drafted at the top of the draft, but you should be looking at a completely different position.
The Atlanta Falcons selected Bijan Robinson in the 2023 NFL Draft, and he looks like he will be an absolute superstar in the league. Robinson was dominant at the University of Texas, and he is going to get the ball a ton for this team.
Even though Robinson is the favorite to win this award, there is still a chance for a really nice payout with this wager. Take Bijan Robinson at +300 to win the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award.
Worst Regular Season Record: Houston Texans (+900)
There are so many great ways to make futures bets on the NFL, including a long list of season specials. Betting on the team with the worst regular season record would qualify under that category.
The odds-on favorite to have the worst record in the NFL during the 2023 season is the Arizona Cardinals, as they have odds set at +340. Arizona is not going to be very good this season, but they still have some winnable games on that schedule.
The Houston Texans are going to end up being the worst team in the league in 2023, as they just have some major holes on that roster. Houston might have a new quarterback in CJ Stroud, but he is going to struggle at times.
There is some serious value with this bet, and taking the Texans at +900 to have the worst record is the way to go.
