2023 NFL MVP Betting Odds
Training camp will get underway in the National Football League at the end of this month.
Next month, preseason games will take place. The following month, Week 1 of the National Football League season will be here. We are approaching the football season, and the excitement is certainly building.
One of the things it’s time to do if you are a football fan and a fan of betting on the NFL is taking a look at MVP odds for the upcoming season.
Let’s take a look at a few of the favorites heading into the season.
Patrick Mahomes, Quarterback, Kansas City Chiefs +600
The two-time Super Bowl MVP threw for over 5,200 yards a season ago and led his team to a Super Bowl come-from-behind win over Philadelphia. Mahomes will turn 28 this season and still looks fresh as ever. Mahomes threw for 41 touchdowns a season ago and just 12 interceptions.
The Chiefs are once again one of the favorites to win it all, and much of that will depend on his offensive line and their ability to keep him on his feet. His 26 sacks in 17 games weren’t terrible, comparably speaking, but the older he gets, the lower that number needs to go.
Joe Burrow, Quarterback, Cincinnati Bengals +670
The 26-year-old from LSU has one goal in this league, and that is to win a Super Bowl.
The Bengals were a game away in February of 2022 but could not get the job done. Burrow last year threw for more than 4,450 yards and 35 touchdowns. His 12 interceptions were right in line with other elites in the position.
Burrow will rely heavily on his elite receiver in Ja’Marr Chase, who is one of, if not THE best, receiver in the game of football. The Bengals will look to grab yet another AFC North title in 2023.
Josh Allen, Quarterback, Buffalo Bills +750
The Buffalo Bills signal-caller has the same goal as Burrow. Both Burrow and Allen have been blocked a bit by Mahomes.
Allen has yet to reach a Super Bowl, and that’s weighing on the mind of many when it comes to voting for the best player in the league. Whether that is right or wrong, it is. Allen threw 35 touchdowns a season ago and 14 interceptions. Allen took 33 sacks, which was in the Top 5 for starting quarterbacks.
What Allen can do is rush the football, and he, along with Hurts, are best at doing that on this list. The older Allen gets, the less Buffalo will be apt to run him. He missed just one game last season for Buffalo.
Justin Herbert, Quarterback, Los Angeles Chargers +1050
Herbert continues to throw up some sensational numbers as the leader of the Chargers. The 25-year-old was second in passing yards, only to Mahomes.
Herbert was a first-round pick in 2020 and has yet to disappoint. The negative on Herbert heading into the season is his inability to win in the postseason last year, as he threw just one touchdown and took three sacks in the loss.
Herbert will look to improve upon the ten interceptions thrown last year and 38 sacks. The sacks were the third most in all of the NFL behind Cousins and Burrow.
Jalen Hurts, Quarterback, Philadelphia Eagles +1200
Many feel Hurts should have won the MVP award a season ago, but instead, it went to Mahomes.
Hurts were electric for Philadelphia, who was the best team all season. The Eagles just did not have enough in the final game. Hurts threw for 22 touchdowns and six interceptions, but his legs were a difference maker, as he scored 13 touchdowns on the ground.
Hurts beat his record from 2021 when he picked up 10. The 24-year-old from Oklahoma played 15 games, which could have been a reason for his runner-up finish in voting.
Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Baltimore Ravens +1425
This guy got paid during the off-season. Lamar Jackson wanted a new contract, and he got it. Now, it’s time to go to work for the signal caller.
The 26-year-old played in just 12 games a season ago and finished with 17 passing touchdowns. Jackson and the Ravens will look to dethrone Cincinnati at the top of the division. There is no doubt Mark Andrews will once again be his top target in 2023.
Non-quarterbacks
- Justin Jefferson, Wide Receiver, Minnesota Vikings +9500
- Cooper Kupp, Wide Receiver, Los Angeles Rams +11000
- Jonathan Taylor, Running Back, Indianapolis Colts +11000
- Derrick Henry, Running Back, Tennessee Titans +12000
- Tyreek Hill, Wide Receiver, Miami Dolphins +12000
- Ja’Marr Chase, Wide Receiver, Cincinnati Bengals +12000
There you have it. Those are several of the top candidates to win the 2023 National Football League Most Valuable Player award. Now, it’s time to let the season play out and see what happens. No matter what you bet - best of luck!
