Free NFL Picks for Week 13
Week 13 of the NFL season is loaded with some terrific matchups, and there are a number of games that will affect the playoff race. The NFL continues to produce some interesting results, but there are still specific games to target.
Here are the four best NFL Week 13 betting picks to make this weekend.
Chicago Bears +8.0 vs. Arizona Cardinals
The Chicago Bears host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, and this game looks like a complete mismatch on paper. Arizona leads the NFC with a record of 9-2, but the Cardinals are also dealing with some injury concerns.
The Cardinals are scoring 28 points per game, but they don’t always run the ball well. Quarterback Kyler Murray has thrown seven interceptions on the season, and he is also dealing with a nagging injury. Chicago is scoring just 16 points per game, but the Bears are averaging over 126 rushing yards per game. David Montgomery can rack up some yards on the ground, and the Bears still have a formidable defense that can make plays.
The weather should also play a factor in this game, as it will likely be cold and windy at Soldier Field. Arizona isn’t going to be able to throw their way to a win, and that’s going to allow the Bears to keep this one close. The Cardinals are going to win the game, but taking the eight points and betting on the Bears is the right way to go.
Minnesota Vikings -7.0 at Detroit Lions
The 5-6 Minnesota Vikings are now back in the playoff race in the NFC, despite going just 2-3 in the last five games. Minnesota now travels to Detroit on Sunday for a matchup with the 0-10-1 Lions.
The Vikings are an elite offensive team as they are scoring over 25 points per game. Issues come on the defensive side of the ball as they are giving up nearly as many points. Detroit is scoring less than 16 points per game, and Jared Goff just hasn’t been able to deliver for the Lions. Goff has thrown for nearly 2,300 yards this season but has just ten touchdown passes.
The Lions did pick up a tie just a few weeks ago against the Pittsburgh Steelers and have lost two straight games by three points. Detroit is starting to play much better, but this will be a tough matchup. Minnesota can’t afford to come into Detroit and lose this game, and they are going to take complete control from the first quarter on. Bet the Minnesota Vikings -7.0 over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Las Vegas Raiders -2.5 vs. Washington Football Team
The Raiders and Washington Football Team are both in the playoff hunt, and that should set up a big game Sunday in Las Vegas. The Raiders will be trying to win this game with offense while Washington hopes to lean on its defense to win the game.
Quarterback Derek Carr of the Raiders has thrown for 3,414 yards this season, but he has thrown nine interceptions. The Raiders don’t always run the ball well, but that passing attack has been hard on opposing defenses. Washington has been getting solid play from Taylor Heinicke, but the Football Team is going to run the ball in this one. Running back Antonio Gibson has racked up 712 yards and five touchdowns, and he is always a threat in the red zone.
This should be a game that comes down to the wire, but going with the home team is the right pick. Take the Las Vegas Raiders -2.5 over the Washington Football Team.
Buffalo Bills -2.5 vs. New England Patriots
The best game of Week 13 is set to take place on Wednesday night as the Buffalo Bills host the New England Patriots. The winner of this game will take over first place in the AFC East, and this division has been much tighter than expected.
New England has won six straight games, but taking on the Bills in Buffalo is going to create a tough challenge. The Patriots are allowing just 16 points per game, but the defense will be tested on Monday night. Rookie quarterback Mac Jones has been one of the best in football this season, throwing for 2,850 yards and 16 touchdowns on the year. The Patriots aren’t going to win games with their offense, but they have done a great job of sustaining drives.
Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen has thrown 25 touchdowns this season, but he has also thrown ten interceptions. The Bills are averaging 29.6 points per game, but this offense hasn’t been explosive as they were a season ago.
This game should be tight on Monday night, but the Bills are going to be too tough at home. Buffalo covers the small 2.5-point spread and takes over first place in the AFC East.
