Quick links
Milwaukee Bucks vs Brooklyn Nets: UNDER 217.5 points
The first game of our betting parlay will be between the Bucks and Nets, with action tipping off Tuesday night at 8:30 PM EST. This series has gotten interesting. After losing by nearly 40 points in Game 2, the Bucks won both games in Milwaukee to even the series at two games apiece.
The far more intriguing storyline is the injuries hitting Brooklyn. James Harden injured his hamstring almost immediately in Game 1 and hasn’t played since.
Kyrie Irving left Game 4 early with an ankle injury, which has been deemed a sprain. Both guards have been ruled out for Game 5, and their future in this series and these playoffs is now in question. The brunt of the scoring now falls on Kevin Durant. In a vacuum, Durant is built for these moments as one of the league’s purest scorers. But Durant will continue to see extra defensive attention like the lone star left for the Nets.
This series hasn’t quite gone at all like you’d expect heading into it. The Nets and Bucks sport the two best offenses in the NBA, yet the under is an astounding 4-0 in the series.
This is the lowest total we’ve seen yet, thanks to the injury to Irving. We have to respect the trend that has solidified in this series. These teams aren’t scoring on these defenses. It’s best we continue riding the hot streak and bet the under on Tuesday night. The Bucks offense hasn’t looked the part all series, and it feels unlikely they suddenly turn around. It’s not as if Kyrie Irving is a lockdown defender. If they couldn’t take advantage of him on the court, it’s hard to see it being an added benefit having him off of it.
Atlanta Hawks vs Philadelphia 76ers: Hawks +7
The other Eastern Conference series tied at 2-2 is between the Hawks and Sixers, with Game 5 tipping off Wednesday night.
The Hawks stormed back from down 18 to steal Game 4 in Atlanta, and now the series returns to Philadelphia, where each team won one game. This had the makings of an even series before it began, and now 2-2, it feels like anyone’s series.
On paper, the Sixers' defense has a slight edge over the Hawks, though both are ranked inside the top ten. The Hawks have a better offense than Philadelphia’s, and it’s this that can put them over the edge in Game 5. Atlanta may not win, but getting 7-points in such a close series feels like a gift we need to take.
Yes, Philadelphia’s two wins came by 16 points each, but Game 4 may have been a sign of what’s to come. Joel Embiid looked noticeably fatigued and injured the entire second half, shooting 0-12 from the field. His slightly torn meniscus may be catching up with him, and it’s the Hawks' time to take control of the series.
Bet on Atlanta +7, as there’s plenty of breathing room with a spread like this. Each team is 2-2 against the spread in this series.
LA Clippers vs Utah Jazz: Utah -2.5
The home team has won both games in this series, and now we’re headed back to Utah for a pivotal Game 5.
The Clippers won convincingly in Los Angeles by a combined average score of 20 points per game and are now 3-1 against the spread in this series. Still, there’s a reason the Jazz were the top-seed in a loaded Western Conference. On paper, these are two of the very best teams left in the NBA playoffs.
The Jazz have a slight edge on both ends, and it’s why the last leg of our NBA playoffs parlay will be to bet Utah to cover the 2.5-point spread. Donovan Mitchell has been on a tear this series, averaging 37.3 points per game. It’s a team game, and the Jazz need their supporting cast to prop up Mitchell a bit in the scoring department.
Going in our favor is the slight uptick in points per game we’ve seen from the Jazz when they play at home.
Utah still feels like the better team in this series despite two strong games from both the Clippers and Kawhi Leonard. We’ll roll with the superior team with arguably the best player on the floor. Bet Utah to cover the -2.5 and take control of this series.
