Top 5 NFL Bets to Consider for Week 5
Week 4 of the National Football League did not start great for us, as we threw out the Green Bay Packers to beat the Detroit Lions. That did not go well, but battling back and having another good week happened, and the heat streak has continued.
We will roll into Week 5 of the National Football League with five of our Top bets to Consider. Let's take a look.
Chicago Bears +6.5 over Washington Commanders
Is this the dumpster fire game of the week or Thursday Night Football? The Bears just continue to embarrass themselves. But, in saying that, the Commanders are in for a fight on Thursday night.
The Bears do not get a lot of time to prepare for this game, and that is a good thing for Justin Fields. Fields just plays and makes plays in this game. Washington's defense is not very good. The Bears' defense can take advantage of a fragile Sam Howell right now.
Look for the Bears to cover this spread, and do not be afraid to bet the Bears on the moneyline. Sure, they are winless, but this is a game Matt Eberflus and Chicago can get.
Buffalo Bills -5.5 over Jacksonville Jaguars
This is a London game early Sunday morning. The Jaguars beat the Falcons in London last week. That was pretty predictable. Now, the Bills have to make the travel and take on a Jaguars team that will be a little more rested. Those are excuses. There is one team that is much better than the other.
The Buffalo Bills with Josh Allen seem to put that Week One debacle behind them and are ready to roll through the NFL this season. This is a Week 5 blowout game in London. The Bills score 30+ in this game and cover the spread over the Jaguars.
Miami Dolphins -10.5 over New York Giants
Oh, man. Mike McDaniel and his Miami Dolphins are coming off a loss. The Dolphins are heading home. The best offense in the league is taking on the worst offense in the league.
The New York Giants, who were absolutely embarrassed on Monday Night Football. Many times, we would wonder if those storylines were a trap for the underdog to come back and compete in this game.
That's not the case here. Daniel Jones is getting no help. The Dolphins' defense swarms him up, and Tua and company put points on the board in bunches. The Dolphins win this game in blowout fashion.
Take Miami -10.5 over New York.
Philadelphia Eagles -4.5 over Los Angeles Rams
The Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers are the best two teams in the National Football League. When you are talking about the best teams in the league, you take them to win bets. Sure, last week, the Eagles did not cover the spread at home against Washington.
But that gives Jalen Hurts and his Eagles some things to work on before this affair. The Rams have been a pleasant surprise with a 2-2 record. Matthew Stafford is finding his young receivers, and they are producing. But look for the Eagles' defense to be all over Stafford.
Expect some turnovers in this game, and Philadelphia goes on the road and wins by double digits. Philadelphia remains unbeaten and turns their attention to the Sunday Night game to see if the 49ers join them at unbeaten through five weeks. Bet the Eagles -4.5 over the Rams.
San Francisco 49ers -3.5 over Dallas Cowboys
Read above, and change Eagles to 49ers. The difference here - the 49ers are playing Dallas, who is probably the third or fourth-best team in the NFC. Dallas is coming off an impressive win over New England last week.
The biggest question mark so far in the National Football League has been the Dallas loss to the Arizona Cardinals. That will remain a mystery. The Cowboys' defense has been one of the best in all of the league through four games.
The issue for Dallas will be what they are going to do to slow Christian McCaffrey down. The best running back in the league scored four touchdowns last week for the 49ers. Brock Purdy continues to get the job done, and the 49ers are well-coached.
Look for them to keep plenty of discipline in this game and come away with a narrow victory. Narrow, but enough to cover. Take the 49ers -3.5.
Others in Consideration for Week 5
New Orleans Saints +2 over New England Patriots
Minnesota Vikings +5.5 over Kansas City Chiefs
Green Bay Packers -2.5 over Las Vegas Raiders
