2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year Betting Odds
The National Football League preseason is underway. The Hall of Fame Game has come and gone, and now it's time for three weeks of exhibition games before the real deal - the NFL regular season. One of the burning topics to discuss before the start of the season - what rookie will have the best season in his first year?
There are some good names on the list, and the odds have been updated as of August 7th to reflect any news on the player or team's status. Let's take a look at the NFL: 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year Betting Odds.
Bijan Robinson +275
Robinson was incredible during his time with the Texas Longhorns. Now, he moves to the next level, and time will tell what kind of professional running back he will be. Robinson is a 6'0, 220lbs bruiser for the Falcons. He was the 8th overall pick, but the top running back off the board.
The Falcons look to use him early and often but have a couple of veterans behind him. If Atlanta and Desmond Ridder are going to make it work in 2023, Robinson has to be great. There is a reason he is the odds-on favorite to win this award.
Bryce Young +500
The Panthers' signal caller just turned 22 years old. The top pick out of Alabama, he was battle-tested plenty in College. Now, he has some weapons with him, with Adam Thielen coming over from Minnesota, along with D.J. Chark, who continues to improve.
Miles Sanders will take over the running back role, and this is a team that can win the wide-open NFC South. Young may go through some growing pains, but we expect him to have a big 2023 season. He is our favorite to win this award.
Anthony Richardson +600
It does not appear that Richardson will get the starting role for the Colts. Obviously, things can change, but it appears Gardner Minshew will be the starter for Week 1.
That's going to put him in a tough spot to win this award, especially with Robinson, Young, and even Stroud playing from the get-go.
The 21-year-old out of Florida is talented but probably needs a year to figure out the league. This is not going to be a good Colts team, so keeping him healthy is probably the right move in Indianapolis.
CJ Stroud +850
On the opposite end of Richardson, it does appear that Stroud is going to get the start in Houston.
Stroud was terrific at Ohio State and looks to follow Justin Fields as the next Ohio State quarterback to have a good NFL career. Although, Stroud will do his work in a different way from Fields. Folks in Houston are excited for Stroud, and he will put up some nice numbers.
There is not a ton of help around him, so his +850 odds are probably in the right spot for him. He comes in with the fourth-best odds of any offensive rookie.
Jahmyr Gibbs +1000
This is an interesting one, as he is going to get some time early in Detroit: another Alabama product and another 21-year-old.
The 12th pick in the 2023 draft, they are so confident in this guy they let DeAndre Swift and Jamaal Williams head to a new team. Backing him up in Detroit will be veteran David Montgomery.
Look for Gibbs to get chances early, but any struggles and this role will go to Montgomery. His 10/1 odds are fun to flirt with, and he's got a shot.
Jaxon Smith-Njiba +1500
Fans in Seattle are excited about the offense of the Seahawks. This Ohio State receiver, at 21 years old, is going to line up with D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett and be the guy that is forgotten about.
Geno Smith will need to get in connection with him early, but this seems like a great spot for a fantastic receiver.
He was the 20th pick overall and comes into the season with the sixth-best odds. Do not be surprised if he ends the season as one of the Top 10 wide receivers in the entire league.
Jordan Addison +1700
One more guy to be excited about. Addison was also drafted in the first round, a couple of picks after Smith-Njiba. The former USC star is also just 21 years old. He is going to line up with Justin Jefferson, which should give him some outstanding opportunities.
Many are a little concerned about him being undersized, as he stands at just 5'11, but his athleticism is off the charts. Look for Kirk Cousins to make quick friends with Addison to go along with Jefferson and Hockensen.
Others in Consideration
- Quentin Johnston +2200
- Zay Flowers +3000
- Rashee Rice +3500
- Devon Achane +3500
- Will Levis +4000
- Dalton Kincaid +4000
- Jaylin Hyatt +4000
This should be a fun season and one where there are some good offensive seasons from these rookies. In the end, Bryce Young at +500 is going to be our choice.
The Panthers have a chance at reaching the postseason, and his play under center would be a big reason why. Do not sleep on Jordan Addison at 17/1 for the Vikings, either. Enjoy the season, and best of luck!
