Best NFL Football Games to Bet in Week 7
There have to finally be some teams that surge to the top of each league, right? With most of the teams in the league hovering around .500, there are still a lot of opportunities for many teams to inch their way into the Super Bowl picture. Here's a look at some of the Week 7 matchups that will be the best to bet on. See all the NFL Odds for Week 7 Here.
Atlanta Falcons (+6.5) vs. Cincinnati Bengals
The Falcons have been an entertaining 3-3 team despite them being considered a team that is rebuilding at the start of the season. Atlanta is 6-0 against the spread and has covered the spread three times after being underdogs at six points or higher. The Falcons have been creative with the running game, ranking third in the league by putting up 165.2 yards per game.
Being strong on the ground has Atlanta putting up 24.3 points per game, which is eighth best in the league. Why the Falcons don't have better than a 3-3 record is their defense, which has struggled to stop opposing passing games. That will likely be an issue against the Bengals.
Cincinnati has a good passing game led by quarterback Joe Burrow and a deep core of wide receivers. The offensive line has been an issue so far this season. Atlanta will keep its cover streak as Cincinnati wins the game.
New York Jets at Denver Broncos (-1)
There isn't much to have like about how the Broncos have played thus far this season. Denver is only averaging 15.2 points per game and looks overmatched offensively. Even bringing in Russell Wilson at quarterback hasn't provided a spark for Denver.
However, the Broncos' defense has been good enough to keep the team afloat. While 2-4 isn't a good start, with how the league is this year, it's enough to hang around. The Jets are one of the early surprises.
New York is 4-2 and very much in the playoff race. Second-year quarterback Zach Wilson has looked improved and benefitted from new weapons in running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Playing in Denver is difficult due to the altitude.
The young Jets will hang tough, but the Broncos will cover the spread.
Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans (-2.5)
There's a chance that the Colts good be getting running back Jonathan Taylor back this week. While that should help Indianapolis' offense, the Colts have found some success without him. Indianapolis was 2-0 in his absence, which allowed them to keep pace with the Titans in the race for the division.
Tennessee is coming off a bye week and has a three-game winning streak going into the game. The Titans' offense has been anemic this year, only putting up 96 points in five games. Tennessee's core of quarterback Ryan Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry are getting older and less effective.
Trusting veteran quarterback Matt Ryan and the Colts on the road is a tough ask. Indianapolis has looked instead of offense throughout the year, much like the Titans have. Tennessee will cover this one at home.
Seattle Seahawks (+6) at Los Angeles Chargers
Geno Smith has the Seahawks as one of the NFL's more intriguing teams. Despite low expectations and playing in a division that was supposed to be strong. Seattle is 3-3 and in the mix for the division title. Smith has been effective, passing for 1,502 yards and nine touchdowns.
Counting on the Chargers has been difficult this season. Los Angeles has struggled with injuries to quarterback Justin Herbert, and the team has struggled to be consistent on defense.
What will be the key element for the Chargers in this game is getting pressure on Smith. Seattle's top running back, Rashad Penny, is out, and the Chargers may be able to win if they can lock in on the passing game.
Seattle should cover this number in a close game.
Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5) at San Francisco 49ers
The Chiefs took a tough loss to Super Bowl favorite Buffalo at home last week. Kansas City doesn't usually stay down for long, however, as the Chiefs' offense has been humming. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is leading an offense that is at the top of the league in scoring at 29.8 points per game.
San Francisco, meanwhile, has been struggling to find an identity this season. Since quarterback Trey Lance went down, veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been up and down. This is a tough game for the 49ers. San Francisco has been struggling on defense, and the Chiefs play at a relentless pace.
While the 49ers may be able to hang with Kansas City, they won't be able to score enough, and the Chiefs will cover the spread.
