Best NFL Week 8 Bets
NFL Week 8 Bets
The eighth week of the NFL season has some marquee matchups. It begins on Thursday night with the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals. These are the two hottest teams in the NFL. There is a lot of betting value in multiple games on the Week 8 schedule.
Here are my best bets for Week 8 of the NFL.
Green Bay Packers vs. Arizona Cardinals ML
The Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers are surging. The Cardinals have still not been defeated, and it does not appear like this will occur anytime soon. Arizona has faced a lot of adversity, but they have seamlessly conquered the setbacks.
Since their opening week loss, the Green Bay Packers have won five straight games and covered in every contest. After their Week 1 failure against Jameis Winston and the Saints, many people wrote off the Packers, but this was a fluke.
The Cardinals will enter this game as a six-point favorite. I am tempted to bet on the Packers at +6, but Davante Adams will likely not play because of COVID-19. However, do not count out Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
The Adams injury will be too much for the team to overcome. Although, I would stay away from the spread and go with the Cardinals on the money line. They will still be undefeated at the end of the weekend.
Carolina Panthers vs. Atlanta Falcons -2.5
The Carolina Panthers started the season on top of the football world, winning three straight games. Although, the team has fallen apart, dropping their past four games. The reason the Panthers have struggled is because they have lost Christian McCaffrey.
Sam Darnold may be playing better than he did in New York. However, Darnold is meant to play a supporting role to McCaffrey in Carolina. He has been thrust into the spotlight, and teams are keying on him in the pocket. This has caused him to revert back to New York Sam, and this quarterback is not one that can win games. Darnold has seven touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2021. The Falcons are 3-3 and have won three of their past four games.
These victories have been against lackluster teams, but Carolina just lost 25-3 to the Giants, so they are not at the top of the food chain. Matt Ryan still looks like a reputable quarterback, and the team is starting to mesh.
Additionally, this game is in Atlanta, so it’s an easy decision to take the Falcons on the points.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers -5 vs. New Orleans Saints
The Buccaneers have not looked fantastic in every game this season. They are 6-1 on the year, but they have struggled to cover ATS. Nevertheless, they are coming off a stellar performance against the Chicago Bears, where they covered with ease.
Tampa Bay’s average defense forced Justin Fields to throw three interceptions, and Tom Brady threw four touchdown passes. The Buccaneers prevailed by a 38-3 margin, and they will play a struggling Saints team. New Orleans is 4-2, but they have been lackluster against average clubs as of late. Jameis Winston is not a quarterback who can deliver this team to the promised land. When Winston takes the field, it’s guaranteed that the quarterback will do something stupid.
He has been efficient, but the Buccaneers are good enough to take advantage of a stupid pass from Winston. Brady and the Buccaneers offense is starting to find its groove.
They will have to deal with a strong Saints defense, but Brady is good enough to counter this attack. The fact that Tampa Bay only has to win by one touchdown is a steal ATS.
New England Patriots vs. Los Angeles Chargers -5.5
The New England Patriots have exceeded expectations in 2021 with Mac Jones under center. Jones looks like a reputable quarterback, and his NFL future is very bright. The team is 3-4, and they have been close to winning multiple games against the Buccaneers and Cowboys.
The team is coming off a dominant win over the Jets, but they will have a tougher challenge against the Chargers in Week 8. Los Angeles is coming off a bye week, but they are sitting at 4-2. In their last game, they were blown off the field by the Ravens. This was an embarrassing loss, but I believe they will regroup in their week off and cover against the Patriots. The Chargers are 4-2 ATS, and they look like an AFC threat.
This will be a tight game, but I think the Chargers pull away at the end. New England has shown the ability to keep games close, but this does not mean they will cover this narrow spread. Justin Herbert will look to bounce back after a terrible showing in Baltimore, and this will push the team over the edge.
Best of luck betting on Week 8 of the NFL!
