NFL Week 7 Bets
It's Week 7 of the NFL season, which means we have two-thirds of games remaining before the playoffs. The season is flying, but we are at a perfect spot to start betting heavily on the action. After six weeks of games, there is a lot of data, and teams have shown their true character. This makes betting and winning much easier for the NFL.
Let's win some money! Here are the best bets for the seventh week of NFL action.
New York Jets vs. New England Patriots -7
The New England Patriots may only be 2-4, but they are a good football team. Their Week 7 opponent, the New York Jets, is not a great team in any way whatsoever. New England has not been superior overall or against the spread, but when you analyze their games, you will be happy with what you find.
In the past three games, the Patriots have performed well. They nearly defeated Tom Brady and the Buccaneers at home. The emotions of Brady's return played into this game, but New England still showed up and dominated in many aspects. They followed this performance up with a victory over the Houston Texans. It was not a great showing, but the Patriots found a way to win. Last week, New England nearly upset the Dallas Cowboys, but Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb shined in overtime.
The Jets have one win and cover this season in a fluke win over the Tennessee Titans. The Patriots have defeated the Jets and covered already in 2021, so I am riding with the Patriots on the spread.
Washington Football Team vs. Green Bay Packers -9.5
The Green Bay Packers are rolling, and they have been very generous to bettors in the past five weeks. Since being upset by the Saints in Week 1, Green Bay has won straight and covered in every matchup.
Washington has been a disappointment in 2021. They played the Chiefs tough in Week 6 but were unable to finish the victory. Washington is 2-4 on the year and 1-5 ATS in 2021. Aaron Rodgers was clutch against Chicago last week, and he will return home to face Washington. He does like to slow the game's pace, but the quarterback has done this consistently this season, and Green bay has still covered.
The Packers win by two scores and continue their winnings ways overall and ATS.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens are establishing themselves as one of the best football teams in the league. Lamar Jackson has been one of the best players in football throughout the 2021 season, but he was not great against Los Angeles, and the team still dominated.
Baltimore's offense is a one-man show with Jackson. Although, the defense has stepped up repetitively. The unit made Justin Herbert look silly in Week 6, and I expect a similar outcome for Joe Burrow and the Bengals. Burrow has the talent to win this game on the road. Nevertheless, momentum wins in the NFL, and the Ravens could be the hottest team in the game 5-1. The squad is also 3-0 at home, so the Bengals will have a tough time winning.
If you want to play it safe, take the Ravens on the money line. However, they should find a way to cover in this contest.
New Orleans Saints -5 vs. Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks did cover in Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but I have two issues with this game. The Steelers are not a very good football team, and Ben Roethlisberger is at the end of his career. Additionally, Geno Smith and the Seattle offense looked nonexistent throughout the game.
Since Smith relieved Russell Wilson because of an injury, he has looked solid. Nevertheless, he does not take many shots, which results in a stagnant offense. The Seahawks have the offense to win games and score points, even with Smith under center.
The play calling has been designed to limit Smith's ability to make mistakes. This is not a recipe for scoring a lot of points. If they take this approach against the Saints, they will have a hard time scoring points. The Saints have an excellent defense. Jameis Winston will likely do something stupid, but I still like them to cover.
Chicago Bears +12.5 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I am very frustrated with the Buccaneers after blowing a lead and allowing the Eagles to cover last week. This was not ideal for the 90% of bettors who took the Buccaneers' spread.
The Bears have a strong defense, which should have enough success for them to cover on Sunday. Additionally, Tampa Bay's defense could have some trouble defending Justin Fields. They have been atrocious against the pass this season, so look for Fields to air it out and for the team to cover ATS.
