Best NFL Week 9 Bets
NFL Week 9 Bets
The ninth week of the NFL marks the halfway point in the regular season. Week 8 was loaded with upsets and surprises. Backup quarterbacks dominated the professional football landscape and went undefeated. Things should return to stability in Week 9. In the NFL, the best team usually wins, which we should get throughout this slate. There are a few pick’em games, but nearly every contest has betting value.
Here are the best bets for Week 9!
Broncos vs Cowboys -9.5
In sports, history tends to repeat itself, and this is what the Cowboys have done throughout the regular season against the spread. The team has played seven games, and they are undefeated ATS. There is an old adage that good teams win, but great teams cover.
Going off this statement, the Cowboys would be a great team. I believe Dallas will move to 8-0 ATS after they host the Broncos this week. Denver is coming off a major victory against the Washington Football Team.
It’s a major win because the team has struggled throughout the season. They are 4-4, but all their wins have been against atrocious football teams. The Cowboys are legitimate, and they were able to cover against the Vikings without Dak Prescott on the road in Week 8. If the Cowboys accomplish this, they can cover against Denver at home in Week 9.
Chargers -1.5 vs Eagles
I know it’s crazy to bet on the Chargers off their recent resume. Although, this is a great get back on track game for the team. Los Angeles will travel to Philadelphia to play a struggling Eagles team.
Philadelphia can cover large spreads, but at -1.5, Los Angeles is a steal. They are coming off two losses to the Ravens and Patriots. Philadelphia is not on the same level as these two clubs. For the Chargers to cover and win, Justin Herbert must have a terrific day under center. Herbert is one of the best gunslingers in the NFL, and he needs to step up for his team.
I think the Eagles defense presents a great matchup for the quarterback, which will result in an easy cover.
Titans vs Rams ML
The Rams are one of the best football teams in the NFL. Tennessee was off to a terrific start in the first half after losing to the Jets earlier this year. However, they have encountered a lot of adversity after their week eight victory. The team lost Derrick Henry for the remainder of the year because of a broken foot. He underwent surgery on Tuesday, and this loss may be insurmountable.
Henry was a huge part of the offense. When the Titans are delivering, they are pounding the rock and setting up their passing game. Ryan Tannehill will have to put the team on his back without Henry.
If Tennessee were playing a bad team, I would pick them in the contest. Although, Matthew Stafford and the Rams should roll to victory at home. The spread of 7.5 is a risk considering the Titans can still perform, but I do not think they have a high chance of winning.
Patriots -4 vs Panthers
The Patriots will be on the road again this week in Carolina to face the Panthers. The team is coming off a massive victory over the Chargers in Week 8. This was a classic Bill Belichick victory because the defense dominated, and the offense took care of the football.
Justin Herbert did not have an answer for Belichick’s attack. This week the Patriots will have to target Sam Darnold. Darnold saw ghosts against New England when he was with the Jets. A similar outcome should occur this week without Christian McCaffrey in the lineup. The defense can key on Darnold and torment him throughout the afternoon.
Offensively, the Patriots should take care of the football and cover with ease against the Panthers.
