Friday MLB Parlay Picks
Friday MLB Parlay Picks (October 1st)
It’s the final Friday of the regular season, and that means we have to take advantage of the slate of games for betting. Baseball parlays are some of the most lucrative ways to win in sports betting. The strategy is slightly different at this point of the season because some teams are on vacation.
Yet, we are still placing a parlay intending to win big. Here is our MLB parlay for Friday, October 1.
Red Sox Over Nationals
Do not count out the Red Sox. As a bettor, I am sure Boston has hurt you over the past week, but this team still has the postseason on their mind. The Red Sox started a four-game slide last Friday at Fenway Park.
New York beat up Boston in every facet of the game, and the team did not score over three runs. This is not winning baseball for the Red Sox. They carried this poor play into their series against the Orioles, dropping two of three games to the worst team in baseball.
Nothing I am telling you should make you want to bet on Boston. However, here is why you should include the Red Sox in your parlay. We thought this team was dead multiple times in 2021, but they found a way to rebound. The Red Sox have three games remaining, and if they sweep, they will likely make the playoffs. They are in direct competition with the Seattle Mariners for the final Wild Card spot. The Nationals are 65-94 and just a lousy club.
The only thing Boston must do in this series is pitch around Juan Soto. If the Red Sox allow Soto to beat them, there is a problem. Eduardo Rodriguez will get the ball for Boston. He is a big-game pitcher with an 11-8 record. The key for the Red Sox to win this game will be their ability to hit the baseball. If they do not prosper offensively, there will be issues for the club. I am banking on Boston bouncing back in this matchup.
Yankees Over Rays
The New York Yankees have almost done the impossible. Many people said they were dead, but they found a way to sneak into the postseason. With three games remaining, New York has a two-game lead in the American League Wild Card race.
If they win today, they could solidify home-field advantage in the one-game playoff. They are playing the Tampa Bay Rays, but the club is playing for nothing. They already solidified the first seed in the American League playoffs. They will play the winner of the ALWC, so this matchup has a great chance of being the ALDS next week. Nestor Cortes will pitch for New York, and he has been like a second ace to Gerrit Cole in 2021.
Cortes is 2-2 with a 2.85 ERA, and he will have the support of one of the hottest lineups in baseball on his side. The Yankees bested the Blue Jays on Thursday because of the long ball. This has been their key to success throughout their race to the postseason.
Mariners Over Angels
Everything has gone in favor of the Mariners down the stretch. Seattle is tied with Boston for the second Wild Card position. Whatever team has the better weekend will likely face the Yankees in the Bronx.
The Mariners are surging and finding ways to win despite a -48 run differential in 2021. Seattle has performed in high leverage situations and delivered with runners in scoring position. This has been key to their success in 2021. If the Mariners continue this throughout the weekend, they could snap the longest postseason drought in sports history. The franchise has not made a postseason appearance since 2001, when they lost in the ALCS.
The team is in the middle of a rebuild, so it would be a huge accomplishment for them to play postseason baseball. Marco Gonzales will pitch for Seattle. He is 10-5 with a 4.00 ERA. Considering Seattle is at home with the postseason on the line, this is a lock.
Blue Jays Over Orioles
I know the Orioles took two of three games from the Red Sox, but Baltimore is still the worst team in baseball. Do not allow momentum to enter the betting equation for this game. Toronto is still alive in the postseason race, but they undoubtedly need a sweep over the weekend at home.
The Blue Jays dropped two of three games to the Yankees, but they played better than Boston did against Baltimore. I fully expect the Blue Jays to rout the Orioles in every game of this series. Toronto is hitting the ball, which is key against Baltimore because their pitchers are weak. Steven Matz will throw for Toronto, and he is 13-7 with a 3.88 ERA in 2021.
Best of luck!
